Myanmar is facing an unprecedented political, humanitarian and human rights crisis, putting the security of civilians at risk. This situation is restricting access to essential services and leading to profound food insecurity. Humanitarian needs have increased dramatically across the country, with 17.6 million people requiring assistance this year. The number of internally displaced people has risen sharply, exceeding 1.4 million the previous year. Around 4 million school-age children, half the population, have been unable to attend school for the past two years.
