FAQs

What is the difference between a manual water pump and a solar water pump?

Fundamentally, the difference lies in how they work. A solar water pump uses an electric pump powered by solar panels, giving residents access to water simply by turning on a tap, similar to the practice in France. In contrast, a manual pump requires manual effort to bring the water to the surface.

Will I receive photos and videos?

You will receive a complete package of photos and videos covering the entire construction process via WhatsApp.

How many names can I write on a well?

You are free to enter as many names as you wish; however, note that the more names there are, the smaller the font size will be.

Why are your wells less expensive than those offered by other associations?

As mentioned previously, our collaboration with certified NGOs that have worked with United Nations agencies guarantees equivalent quality. The main difference in cost lies in the markup these organizations apply to the wells. As an association with low administrative costs, we avoid the need for a high markup on our wells. Furthermore, as a non-profit organization, we do not need to generate profits, unlike some businesses that earn money by providing wells. This non-profit orientation allows us to keep our water access projects more affordable.

How do you ensure that the license plates will not be altered?

To guarantee the integrity of the plaques, we have implemented several measures. Once the application is approved, no one, including the donor, is authorized to alter the name on the plaque. Our teams, registered in Pakistan and working with other UN NGOs, are trustworthy. Furthermore, we conduct an annual on-site visit to directly verify the condition of the wells.

Why is the lifespan of a well between 1 and 10 years?

In the field, our teams ensure an estimated lifespan of over 20 years. However, we choose to communicate a lower estimate (1-10 years) to encourage donors to renew their commitment. The increasing frequency of natural disasters such as floods or fires creates uncertainty. Furthermore, the unpredictability of daily life makes it difficult to guarantee that a well will remain functional for more than 30 years. Therefore, to ensure honesty and transparency, we take precautions by providing this estimate.
